I live in Nebraska with my husband, Andrew, and our children Katherine and Samuel. Our daughter, Evelyn, joined God and Jesus in Heaven on April 24, 2019 after 349 days on Earth with us.

Evelyn was a joyful blessing from God. With her in our family, I felt blessed every day in the way that we all think being blessed should look.

 

Evelyn had this light about her that brought joy to everyone she interacted with. The amount of people that have commented about her continuous joy has astonished me, people I did not even know were touched by her life. She would instantly smile whenever she saw you. At times, she didn't realize you were looking at her while she was playing, eating, or babbling to herself. When she would look up, the biggest smile would spread on her face when she realized you were looking at her. This was the kind of joy she would give each day.

 

I feel like the luckiest mama around to be the mama that God chose for her.

I am not sure I will ever understand how it was part of God's plan to call Evelyn home after such a short time on earth, but I am certain that it was a part of His plan. He has left a trail of comfort for me to follow every moment after Evelyn's death. This blog details that trail.
